In her thirty-five year teaching career, Dr. Camille Bishop’s love for students and her penchant for adventure have taken her to classrooms all over the world. Following an educational development project in Albania, she sensed the need for more training and returned to the United States to pursue her Ph.D. in education from Trinity International University, where she wrote her doctoral dissertation on leadership transition between the generations. This research became the focus of her unique book, We’re in This Boat Together.
Currently, she teaches a variety of courses focusing on education, leadership, community development, cross-cultural competencies, and leadership transition. She is the Assistant Provost with the University of the Nations and also teaches as an adjunct for other universities. Camille splits her time between her international travels and her home office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her hobbies include all kinds of outdoor activities. She is especially fond of white-water rafting, a passion which inspired the plot of her book. Dr. Bishop’s life reflects one of her favorite sayings, "friends are our paycheck.” Thanks to her busy travel schedule for the university, Camille enjoys spending time with a network of friends from all over the world.
